Polyamide Profile and Moisture
In the stocking of polyamide (PA) profiles, stocking should be done in a dry and protected environment that will not be affected by humidity. PA profiles in a humid environment can absorb 2% of moisture, this causes the dimensions of the PA profile to change as well as its mechanical properties.
It causes 40% weakening. If the PA profile comes into direct contact with water, it absorbs 6% of water into its body, which further damages its mechanical properties. The supplier of the PA Profile should give the dry mechanical properties of the product to the customer. Thus, with the mechanical tests to be carried out before use, it can be understood whether the product retains its properties due to transportation and storage conditions.
