EPDM stands for Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer, a synthetic rubber used in a range of applications. EPDM is used most commonly used in the automotive and construction industries for various seals due to its excellent resistance to environmental factors such as Ozone, UV and general weathering.
As the TPE sealing process is basically similar to that of thermoplastics, there are advantages such as short cycle times, low energy consumption and complete recyclability. On the other hand, there are increased material prices as well as worse permanent elastic properties and compression set values compared to the crosslinked elastomers.
Polyamide PA 66 is a hard, durable, rigid material used for various purposes in engineering, and is used as an insulation wick in the production of heat-insulated aluminum profiles, which are formed by adding 25% glass fiber.
